What to bring & how to prepare
Bring with you
- Your original passport — photocopies are not accepted
- A list of your current medications (names and dosages)
- Your eyeglasses, if you wear them
- Your IRCC documents (e.g. the IMM 1017 form) and any prior medical reports
On the day
- Please wear a mask
- No fasting is required for the blood test
- Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment
The exam, step by step

Check in and have your photo taken.

History & physical
Medical history review and physical exam by the panel physician.

Lab test
Blood and urine samples collected at the lab.

Chest X-ray
Completed at the partnered lab.
Bloodwork & chest X-ray
Your blood test and chest X-ray are done at Downtown Radiology & IMM-Labs — 135-8279 Saba Road, Richmond (next to Richmond Public Market). Walk-in, no appointment needed; lab fees are paid separately at the lab front desk.
Chest X-ray (age 11+)$100
Blood test (age 15+)$90
These lab fees are charged by the lab and are in addition to the exam fee above.
