How to Prepare — Step by Step

Bring original documents
Valid original passport, IRCC Medical Report Form (IMM 1017E), or instruction letter from IRCC. Glasses or contact lenses if normally worn. List of current medications with doses. Any prior chest x-ray reports if you have a tuberculosis history. Refugee claimants should bring original IRCC refugee document.

Eat normally. You do not need to fast.
Wear comfortable clothing. The visit is about 30 minutes for medical history and physical examination. Bloodwork (age 15+) and chest X-ray (age 11+) are done in the laboratory.
We file electronically within 24 hours when lab results are available.
Results are submitted directly to IRCC through eMedical. You will receive a printed proof-of-exam document at the end of your visit. In most cases, IRCC Medical Dept will receive all medical reports within two business days.
