How to Prepare — Step by Step

Bring all of these — IRCC requires originals.
Valid passport, IRCC Medical Report Form (IMM 1017E if upfront), or instruction letter from IRCC. Glasses or contact lenses if normally worn. List of current medications with doses. Any prior chest x-ray reports if you have a tuberculosis history. Refugees and protected persons should bring the IRCC referral.

Eat normally; we are not a fasting visit.
Wear comfortable clothing — you will change into a gown for the X-ray and exam. The visit is about 45 minutes: vitals, vision, urinalysis (15+), bloodwork (15+), chest X-ray (11+), and physician examination. Children under 11 are not X-rayed unless symptomatic.
We file electronically within 24 hours.
Results are submitted directly to IRCC eMedical. You receive a printed proof-of-exam slip with your eMedical reference number. We do not release medical findings to you directly — IRCC is the requesting authority. Most visa officers receive results within one business day.
