What the IRCC medical actually is.
An IRCC-mandated examination by a panel physician (us) to assess admissibility on health grounds. It is not a comprehensive physical and does not produce a report you can use elsewhere. Results are submitted directly to IRCC through eMedical. The exam can be reused for future Canadian Visa application.

How long are the results valid?
IRCC policy changes. The results can be valid from 1 year to up to 5 years.
How can I prove that I have undergone the Immigration Medical Exam?
At the end of your visit, you will be provided a printed document proving that the Immigration Medical Exam is done. You can provide this to your agent, your lawyer or your IRCC Visa office.
Do I need to fast?
No fasting required. Eat and drink normally before the visit.
Can I get the results?
You can email us at [email protected] 1 week after your visit to request the result.
What if I am pregnant?
Tell us at booking. Chest X-ray is either deferred until after delivery or performed with abdominal lead shielding — IRCC accepts either approach.
What if my chest X-ray shows abnormalities?
Additional tests like sputum tests, follow-up imaging, or specialist referral may be required. This adds time but does not necessarily disqualify you.
I am a refugee — does the process differ?
The exam process is the same. However, the fee will be covered by the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP). Please bring all your original refugee claimant document.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Please make appointment. We may not have time to accommodate walk-ins.
What languages do you speak?
All staff speak English; Cantonese and Mandarin.
