Dr. Carol Dou

Dr. Carol Dou is a distinguished graduate of the University of British Columbia (UBC) Medical School and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. Prior to her medical education, she also earned an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy, also from UBC. A recipient of numerous awards for academic excellence and contributions to medical research, Dr. Dou is an active Canadian Medical Association Ambassador and serves as a Clinical Instructor for UBC Medical School.

Being passionate about preventative healthcare and chronic disease management, Dr. Dou is committed to providing comprehensive and patient-centered care. She practices full scope family medicine with a focus on dermatology and skin care. Her clinical expertise extends to assisting in plastic surgeries, wound care, skin closure, and excision of skin lesions. She is also adept at acute medicine and is an integral part of the hospitalist team at Lions Gate Hospital.

Beyond her primary areas of focus, Dr. Dou also possesses valuable skills in rural and emergency medicine, honed during the early stages of her career in remote areas. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, she is well equipped to serve a diverse patient population.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Dou enjoys an active lifestyle that includes hiking and playing the guitar. She treasures her time spent with family, friends, and her beloved dog.
